Truth be told, Nancy Elizabeth's earliest beginnings are largely a mystery with more "maybe's" than "definites". Of the extraordinarily miniscule documentation for her, there are simply not enough dots to connect for us to describe her path with unfettered confidence.

Nancy Allen at the age of twenty four married widower and single Father of two, Burrell Yeates "Yates" (25) on September 18th, 1853 @ Hamilton County, Florida. The newly established couple have five verifiable children during the course of their marriage. Chronologically they welcomed James Cicero, John Wesley, Nancy, Florence, and Lucy Yeates "Yates".

•• Yeates Patriarch, Burrell supports his family in a lifelong field of farming and agriculture.

On March 5th, 1863 Nancy's Husband,, Burrell Yeates enlisted with the Confederate States Armies 9th Regiment, Florida Infantry @ Lake City, Florida. The unit was assigned to General Finegan's Brigade, and served with the Army of Northern Virginia at Cold Harbor, then was placed in the Petersburg trenches South of the James River. It was involved in the Appomattox Campaign before surrendering on April 9th, 1865, with 15 officers and 108 men in total. Upon his return to Florida, Burrell signed an "Oath of Allegiance" to the Union on May 20th, 1865.

At some point after 1870 but before 1880 the Yeates family relocate from Hamilton County, Florida to rural Eastern Hillsborough County in the West Central part of the state. Nancy and Burrell remain here for the rest of their lives.

•• On November 15th, 1888 Nancy Elizabeth's Husband received a Hillsborough County, Florida land grant which was signed by then U.S. President, Grover Cleveland.

For reasons we know not, Nancy Elizabeth's Husband of forty years, Burrell passes away on Thursday February 22nd, 1894.

Just104 short days later, this evenings distinguished honoree takes her last breath on Wednesday June 6th, 1894. She was sixty five.

•• Nancy Elizabeth and Burrell's Son, James Cicero, a farmer died in an automobile crash on March 17th, 1917 when his neck was "dislocated" and he endured severe burns to his head and neck.
