Although we do not specifically know when, this evenings honoree would relocate to the Spanish island colony of Cuba. By 1904 we find Ramon sailing between Havana, Cuba and Tampa in the state of Florida occasionally with stopovers in Key West. He takes up residence in the Sunshine State living with his Wife Antonia where he partakes in the field of cigar making.

Through the early 1900s we find Mr. Quiros making numerous trips between his new home residence of Tampa, Florida and the newly independent Cuba. While doing so he was becoming increasingly prominent in the thriving local cigar industry.

Ramon Bernaldo rose to become foreman of the Havana American Company where he was directly responsible for cigar manufacturing. His frequent visits to Cuba were in fact tobacco buying collaborations with his Brother who was supremely experienced when choosing high quality choice leaves.

In July of 1912 this evenings honoree takes a huge leap of faith when he opens his own cigar manufacturing factory which bears his name along with experienced partners !!

Quiros Villazon Y Ca. officially opens its doors on 14th Street in Ybor City on Monday July 8th, 1912 and quickly becomes an International staple of cigar making. Their chief brand was "La Docilla".

Mr. Quiros was on his way to experiencing the heights of the American dream !!

In February of 1914, Ramon Bernaldo became ill and had begun treatment with his physician. Sadly, after 5 days he would lose his life from the effects of nephritis. Mr. Quiros was forty five.
