Isbon Giddens Linebaugh

Isbon Giddens Linebaugh was born in Tampa, Florida more than 112 years ago on October 9th, 1907 to his Father Henry Tecumseh Linebaugh and Mother, Mary Susan Hendry.

• On January 23rd, 1907 Charles Curtis from Kansas becomes the first Native American U.S. Senator.

• On March 15th and 16th, 1907 elections to the new Parliament of Finland are the first in the World for a National assembly with Women candidates. They are also the first elections in Europe where Universal suffrage ( Giving Women the right to vote ) is applied... Nineteen Women are elected !!

Isbon Giddens was the ninth of 11 Linebaugh children born to his Mother and Father. He had five Brothers ,( Lauren's, Henry, Charles David, F. Marion, and Tohon ) His five Sisters were ( Julia, Susie, Leila Mary, Delia, and Violet )

Linebaugh Patriarch Henry Tecumseh supports his family in the field of farming as a young man before later becoming a successful realtor.

Isbon marries Elizabeth Adelaide Cone on May 31st, 1933. The couple would have a single Son and Daughter ( Isbon Giddens Jr. & Suzanne Linebaugh )

After having graduated from Hillsborough High School, in Tampa, Isbon works closely with his family in the Linebaugh investment company.

One week after having celebrated his 33rd birthday Isbon registers to serve his Country on October 16th, 1940. He would officially enlist on July 13th, 1942 eventually achieving the rank of Commander in the United States Coast Guard Reserves during the Second World War. Isbon helped in the liberation of the Philippines from Japanese Imperial Forces on the Pacific front from late October 1944 until August of 1945 . Mr. Linebaugh is honorably discharged after the conclusion of the war on December 19th, 1945.

After having served his Country, Isbon returns to the Sunshine State and city of Tampa where he is a successful realtor and with his Wife Elizabeth, quietly raise their children for the rest of their lives. I found many articles detailing Isbon's passionate hobby of yacht racing that he partook in for decades.

He would pass away in his hometown at the age of seventy three on Saturday January 17th, 1981.
