Paul Leo Quinn Jr.

Paul Leo Quinn Jr. was born in New York city's Holmemann Hospital nearly 118 years ago on July 11th, 1903 to his Father Paul Leo the senior, and Mother,. Agnes Earle. In one particular New York State census record from 1920 this evening's honorees Father's name appears as "John S. Quinn ". This is the only document where we find this unusual, unexplainable anomaly.

Paul Leo was the youngest of two children born to his mother and father. He had a single older Brother by the name of Richard.

** In the only record we could locate which was the New York census from 1920 this evenings honorees Father at the age of 58 was employed in the field of farming. At this time the family resided in upstate New York and no longer in Manhattan. Both Paul Leo and his Brother Richard also assisted on the farm

By 1930, Paul Leo Jr. was residing in Cleveland, Ohio and according to the census from that year was "Head of Household" and living with his Mother, Agnes, now a widow although it is unclear as to when this evenings Father had died and where.

On July 13th, 1933, two days after having had celebrated his 30th birthday, this Paul Leo marries 21-year-old Cleveland, Ohio native Estelle Uschyk in Chautauqua, New York. The couple would have two children during the course of their marriage, a Son Gerald and Daughter, Christine Quinn.

The Quinn's would continue to reside in Estelle's home city of Cleveland, Ohio where Paul Leo Jr. works as an electrician.

With the United States entry into the Second World War after the bombing of Pearl Harbor this evening's honoree registers to serve his country in Cleveland, Ohio on February 14th, 1942 at the age of 38. At the time of his enlistment, Paul Leo works for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company.

Mr. Quinn officially enlists as a United States Navy Reservist on October 15th, 1943. He would serve his country for the entirety of the war earning the rank of Lieutenant Commander until being honorably discharged on February 22nd, 1946 when he was placed on the "Retired List"

Shortly thereafter Paul Leo relocates his family to the Sunshine State of Florida and City of Tampa in 1947. There is no specific verifiable reason as to why the Quinn family ventured Southward or what this evenings honoree specifically participated in as far as employment goes once they arrived.

For reasons we know not, Paul Leo Quinn loses his life while at home two days after Memorial Day on Wednesday, May 28th, 1952. He was forty eight.
